Dan & Katie!

So the last 10 days I have had my little brother Daniel and his wife Katie, here visiting Sydney. It was so much fun. I seriously tried to do EVERYTHING with them that I could think of so get ready for a picture show!
This is my sister in law Katie and I hiking the "three Sisters" up in the Blue Mountains. NOT for people with vertigo, and breathtaking!

The Three Sisters
Thomas at the Eco Point outlook!
Here is a pix of Daniel and I surfing at Bondi Beach...nice wet suits hu? Dan and Katie borrowed them from distant family members, and it was really easy to find each other in the water with all the florescent coloring. It was also good because the water was freezing since it is winter here.
Katie babysat by burying Mary in the sand...that way she couldn't go anywhere!!
We took turns watching the kids and surfing...what a deal for me hu?
We also did all the Sydney touristy things. Here we are touring the Sydney Opera house. It is AMAZING. I highly recommend the 1 hour tour. You see all the halls and get the history. Funny thing I remember from the tour--Each seats cushion absorbs the same amount of sound as a human body. So the concert hall sounds the same with a full or empty audience.
Saturday we took them to featherdale wildlife park where they got to pet the kangaroos and koalas.
Here is Daniel and the kids at the Sydney Olympic swimming pool!
Here Dan, Katie and I rented a three man Kayak and paddled around Balmoral beach in Mosman. My bennion friend Amy babysat my kid--thanks!!

After Sydney Dan and Katie went up to Brisbane (the gold coast) for a couple days! I had so much fun seeing my family! Now who is coming next?

Going Fishing

So this weekend we stayed at home and went fishing off the dock right outside our apartment. It was so warm outside, it is supposed to get up to 28 C this week and I have no idea what that is in Fahrenheit but everyone is pretty excited so it must be warm! Spring is on its way!

Bennions!

Funny Story. In 2001 I joined student Government at BYU. Then the next year I ran with Rob Foster for Student Body President and Vice President. I ran against a team called the "Bennion/ Blackner team" and had I not ran against them, I would have voted for them....Stan DID vote for them! He is pretty much lucky I married him after that! This was in 2002.

Seven Years LATER I get an email from Bennion saying he is moving to Sydney, Australia. I had not really seen him since the elections. He has since married and has three kids just like me! Before moving to Sydney they were in Europe (just like Stan and I) and last Sunday we had them over for dinner as they had just arrived in Australia the day before. We are currently trying to get them to move next to us--wouldn't that be funny if we were actually neighbors!

Between the two families, our kids are quite funny! We have a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 & 0 (8 mo) = six kids in all! I am kinda bummed I didn't get a picture, but I am sure I will in the future as we are planning to take them around and show them SYDNEY! Yea for old/ new friends!
