The Power house museum is
Sydney's Science Museum. It is right in the center of the city and this weekend we went to see it. They were featuring a Star Wars exhibit. I KNOW I am about to offend all those Star wars maniacs out there, but WHY would a science museum dedicate two whole floors to outer space
fantasy? They had detailed information about all the Star Wars planets and information on how we could survive there just in case we end up there. First why would you waste your time finding out how to live on a planet that doesn't exist? Second, Why would you outfit
manikins with
proper attire for the planets? I don't ever need to know how to survive in -300F on a funny camel monkey. Also, what is with the outfits? Those dessert guys with
machine guns just look like they are wearing a gas mask and a burlap! Tangent: Are these outfits for sale? If so, be careful because someone who has identified a little too much with the Star Wars movies will probably buy it so they are prepared for the time that they end up on planet
Zar (or whatever those Star Wars planets are called)...Yes, I need to stop now.
Ok, positive things about this Star Wars movie exhibit.... getting to ride different space ships from the movie that float on air.
Aside from the Star wars exhibit, the museum was quite kid friendly. They had a building section where kids from 3-6 got to build and wear hard hats and vests.
They had a train, air plane section, a sound and light section for kids to play on. It was cute, and we spent the whole afternoon at this museum.

I'm right there with you concerning Stars Wars...I just don't get it. Andrew recently showed our boys clips from the original movies...now they are constantly playing Star Wars. Luke (my 3 year old) loves "Solo". Fun times!
Um, we just might have to drop everything and go there! The boys play star wars constantly and I remember having that land speeder as a toy as a kid. Total star wars geeks I guess, absolutely no offense taken.
It sounds like someone had a really good time putting together that star wars exhibit! A museum that encourages creativity and imagination?
Great pictures! Mary is huge! I'm glad you guys had such a good time at the museum.
Mary looks so big. She really has chaged. I feel for you with the star wars crap. NO THANKS!
I was under the impression that Star Wars was entirely made from actual footage. My perception of the universe has been dashed.
Jordan is now so jealous and wants to come to Australia!
