Malaysia -Pangkor Island

After Deep Creek, we had a VERY LONG flight to Malaysia (layover in Dubai). We then got on a smaller plane so we could spend a couple days in Pangkor Island. After 3 weeks of reunions in the USA, we purposely planned a week at the end of our trip for just some time with our little family and the kids. We wanted to re-adjust to the time zones, have good talks about all the things we experienced in the USA with family and just regroup before starting back at work and school.
This little plane was hilarious. The air vents were very old and would spray out this white smoke. I was worried at first, until this Aussie lady I was sitting next too told me the vents had been doing that every year for the last 15 years (she comes out every year).
Thomas made a friend on the plane and spent the next couple of days playing on the beach and at the pool with this little guy
The haze from Singapore had come up to Malaysia, due to fires in Indonesia. We were told it had mostly gone away over the last three weeks, but the sky and water were still very grey, even though it was warm and sunny.
Monkeys all over the lawn
We just stayed on the beach the whole time. We ate here, ordered drinks at the pool bar, swam and talked. I love family time!
One evening we took a small tour of the Island by taxi
Pangkor is a fishing village
Foo Lin Kong Temple (Taoist)

My kids found a playground and started playing with the local kids

Here we are at the old Dutch Fort
Here we are shopping at the village (there were a fair amount of stray dogs walking around)
Eating some octopus
The monkeys would climb into your room and get into your stuff if you didn't secure the doors
Olivia dancing on the beach
One morning, Stan and Olivia went out on a snorkeling tour. It was Olivia's first time, and while Stan said the visibility was not that good, Olivia thought it was the coolest thing ever!
These were the friends we made at the pool. We played with them every day.
My kids got used to ordering drinks at the bar.
Another beach with my husband Stan.
Bird feeding- Although these birds were wild the hotel would put bird feed out at certain times and they would all come
Good bye!
