So on Saturday we went to Watson's Bay. I have wanted to go for a long time after researching Sydney and information on good places to live. What is cool about Watson's bay is that it is a suburb built on this really tall cliff overlooking the city.
You can see the harbour bridge off to the left in the picture above. In the picture below Stan and Mary are standing in the same place but facing the city!
Really the views are amazing over here in the eastern suburbs!

So what you need to know about Watson's Bay is....First off, if was one of the first places for a boat to land when Australia was discovered by governor Phillip in 1788. Secondly, it boasts the oldest fishing village in Australia; this is complimented by a famous fish n' chips shack located right on the beach that tourist are told to eat at... (but we didn't--oops) There is a walk around the cliffs overlooking the water that has been officially preserved by the city which explains all the significant stuff about this place.
Mary and "the gap" behind her which opens up to the Tasman Sea (yes not Tasmanian, Tasman)
The lady in front of us saw a whale come up and dive back down. Our kids were more interested in picking leaves off of the trees to even look long enough to see the wale.miss Olivia
A rainbow lorikeet ...they are EVERYWHERE this time of year!
and Miss Mary!
Honestly, I would live in Watson's Bay if (1) we could afford it (2) I wasn't worried about the kids falling off the cliff if they scurried out the back yard and (3) if there wasn't a legal nude beach just one beach down from us :-) Although some might take that last point as a plus and move straight over!!

Wow! That looks amazing, I would love to live somewhere like that.
Your pictures are beautiful!
Wonderful history lesson and beautiful pictures! Wish we could come to visit you.
Tyson LOVED reading this post with me! He kept pointing at pictures and saying "Hug!" and was really excited to see Thomas' two year old shots (which were adorable by the way). Nice work with the tinkerbell costume! She looked like she loved it and she did make a great tinkerbell!
That looks amazing!! I would seriously love to come there someday! Your post about the restaurant where you and Stan had your anniversary dinner made me drool!
We are really loving it here. Its only been three weeks, but I feel like we are pretty settled, and so far everyone is happy!
